Bursting Flowers

I saw the sky burn and bursting flowers in the plains

I saw the smoke rise up and the clouds drop acid rain

Now yell out for peace yell out for calm again

Now yell out for love but the sirens far too late

I sold my soul to the company

and now there ain’t nothing left for me

there aint nothing left for me

I said I sold my pride for a shiny thing

and now there’ ain’t left of me

there aint nothing left for me oh no

It has the final word a curtain call of disdain

It pulls and pulls all of the chords with hate and no restrain

Now hold out for hope hold out for the sane

Now hold out for faith but its maimed once again

I sold my soul to the company

and now there ain’t nothing left for me

there aint nothing left for me

I said I sold my pride for a shiny thing

and now there’ ain’t left of me

there aint nothing left for me oh no

When we lose our cover turn on one another

With no way to brace for what we’ll discover

When we lose our color crumble from thunder

With no chance to breathe as we go under

You don’t take my shell you don’t take my bark

And then expect to recover

You don’t break my limbs you don’t kill my seed

And then expect not to suffer
